Who we are
Calvary Community Baptist church has been ministering to the northglenn community since 1967.
Calvary Community Baptist Church is a fellowship of believers seeking to love and exalt our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and proclaim His message to the world. We would love to have you join us Sunday morning regardless of your background or current beliefs.
We have all wrestled with questions concerning life, death, eternity, sin, salvation, and love. These fundamental questions are addressed in the pages of the Bible. We all desire community and friendship. There is no deeper level of community than that which can be found in the mutual love of believers in Christ. For these reasons, we at Calvary seek to proclaim, teach, and study the Word of God together. We also strive to establish a close and vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ, to be joined to one another in selfless love, and to reach the lost world with the good news of Jesus Christ.
The church was founded in 1967 as Sunny Acres Community Church by Rev. Howard L. Herbst with the purpose of upholding the inerrancy of scripture and protecting the fundamentals of the faith. The name changed to Calvary Community Church later in 1967, and the church moved to its current location in 1969. By 1976, the church had changed its name again to Calvary Community Baptist Church, and had joined the General Association of Regular Baptist Churches. Many pastors have served at the church, including Bernie Augsburger who served just short of 33 years. The current pastor, Robb Redlin, has been at Calvary since October 2019.
